About Us

Established in 2015, the Milton First Responder’s Foundation (MFRF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.  The MFRF Board is comprised of civic and business leaders that serve on a volunteer basis to provide support to the Milton Police and Fire employees and their families.

Our Mission is to encourage and strengthen the partnership between the citizens of Milton and our public safety first responders.  MFRF is dedicated to providing critical resources to those who make the city of Milton a safe place to live, work and visit. Public safety cannot rest on the shoulders of law enforcement and firefighters alone.  As much as we all need the police and firefighters, they need our support as well.  MFRF raises funds for programs through a variety of events that are sponsored through donations from local businesses, civic organizations, neighborhoods, and individuals.

Our Purpose is “To strengthen the partnership between the citizens of Milton and our public safety first responders.”

Our Vision is to sustain an ongoing program to provide support in the following areas, including but not limited to:

‍        Providing financial assistance for first responders injured or killed in the line of duty or enduring a family hardship.

‍        Recognizing Milton firefighter and police officer heroes who demonstrate exceptional skill, expertise, innovation,

‍        bravery and commitment to keeping Milton safe.

‍        Purchasing supplementary or unbudgeted equipment and training materials to keep Milton’s first responders

‍        performing at the highest level of productivity and preparedness

Our Founder - Claudine Wilkins  Claudine Wilkins has been protecting victims and practicing injury law for 3 decades. She started her career as a Georgia prosecutor. While prosecuting criminal cases, she saw how important our first responders are to each community. As a resident when the city of Milton was first established in 2006, she felt it was important to protect our first responders. In 2015, she founded the Milton First Responders Foundation. She is the president of Wilkins Law Firm in Milton, Georgia, and inspired policy changes after winning one of the largest verdicts in U.S.A. in a landmark drunk driving case. She is the Founder of the non-profit Animal Law Source and the Animal Protection and Wellness Expo (APAWexpo.org). She graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1996 and later received her Master of Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School in 1997.   She has successfully drafted 10 of our Georgia state laws related to public safety, and the welfare of victims who do not have a voice. She is national expert in animal cases, animal crimes and related civil laws. She routinely provides training in various fields nationally and throughout Georgia. She petitioned Georgia Governor Kemp to create the first Statewide Animal Crimes Resource Prosecutor which was approved in 2022. She enjoys living in Milton with her family, volunteering and is very passionate about giving back to her community.
